vintage French confit preserve pots | lug handle

A delightfully simple and honest design, each pot was hand made on the potter's wheel in France in the early 1900s. No two pots are ever identical and they bear the makers marks in terms of imperfections, fingerprints and irregularities to the glazed surface. Used originally to store preserved food these wonderfully sturdy utilitarian objects are very collectable as each is unique and each region of France had a slightly different style dependant on the local clay used.

Some are cream, some are brown, and they always have a hint of gray to the surface. We use these preserve jars for a variety of purposes around the home; as vases, plant pots, utensil holders and dish brush holders.
