Vintage paddy field basket | Sumba

Our antique Indonesian baskets were originally used to carry produce to market on the head or back or to carry small rice plants in the rice paddy fields.

These baskets are between 50 and 80 years old and are made from very finely cut adn sectioned pieces of durable bamboo.

Our Sumba baskets are perfect for laundry, waste paper, or spare socks. They are also useful for storing towels, linen and flip flops!

Please do not expect perfect condition these baskets have had a previous life and have imperfections as you would expect from a vintage item.
